James Richard "Jimmy" Bullard (born October 23, 1978 in Newham , London ) is a former English soccer player who also has German citizenship .
Bullard began his career at Ebbsfleet United and then turned pro at West Ham United . He could not prevail there against competitors such as Joe Cole , Michael Carrick and Frank Lampard and was equipped with a three-year contract in 2001 after a three-week trial period from the third division Peterborough United .
In January 2003 Bullard signed a contract with the then second division Wigan Athletic and was mostly uninterrupted for the "Latics" in use. In the 2005/06 season Bullard made the leap into the Premier League and, after performing well there, was briefly associated with top clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool . After the end of the season he moved to Fulham FC . After two and a half years, he moved to Hull City . There he was only used sparsely, so that he was loaned to the second division club Ipswich Town in January 2011 , which committed him in the summer and provided him with a contract until June 30, 2013. For the 2012/13 season Bullard moved to Milton Keynes Dons . In October 2012, however, he announced the end of his career due to persistent knee problems.
In addition to a place in the squad of the English national team , Bullard also speculated on a mission for Germany , since his grandmother is of German descent. His offer to support Michael Ballack in the event of a successful naturalization in the German midfield was rejected by the former national coach Jürgen Klinsmann .
In 2014 he took part in the 14th season of the British television show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! part.
