Jimmy Jackson (musician)
James “Jimmy” Jackson (* in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American pianist and organist who lived in Germany after serving in the US Army. In 1969 he performed at the Heidelberg Holy Hill Jazz Meeting ; there he interpreted soul hits with his trio . In the following year he founded the Trio Haboob , with whom he presented his own album in 1971. He was also a founding member of Embryo in 1970 and had already played with Christian Burchard 's big band of the same name in 1969 . He also played Mellotron and is also known for his collaborations with Passport and Amon Düül . He was also involved in the first album by Tangerine Dream . In 1973 he played with Embryo at the National Blues and Jazz Festival in Reading ; At the beginning of the 1980s he toured with Marius Müller-Westernhagen .
