Jimmy McKinney (born August 2, 1983 in St. Louis , Missouri , United States ) is an American basketball player . Most recently, he was under contract with Telekom Baskets Bonn in Germany .
Career
McKinney started playing basketball at the age of seven. He plays the positions of point guard and shooting guard and spent four years hunting baskets for the Missouri Tigers NCAA team. In his senior year of college he averaged 12.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
Since the 2006/07 season, the 1.92 m tall and 90 kg heavy McKinney has been under contract with the German Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt . McKinney played in Frankfurt until 2012. For the 2012/2013 season he moved within the league to the s.Oliver Baskets from Würzburg. After the sporting descent of the Würzburg in the summer of 2014, McKinney was initially without a new club. In December 2014 he finally joined the Walter Tigers Tübingen . McKinney scored an average of 12.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game for Tübingen during the season.
After McKinney in Tübingen did not receive a new contract in the 2015/2016 season, he initially joined Telekom Baskets Bonn until November 2015 , which wanted to compensate for the loss of the injured Michał Chyliński with his commitment . In late October, McKinney's contract was extended to the end of the season. After the season, however, McKinney received no further contract in Bonn.
