Jimmy Roberts (born 1952 in New York City ) is an American composer who works primarily in the fields of incidental music, musicals and television.

Life

Jimmy Roberts grew up in Great Neck, Long Island . His grandfather was a cantor and rabbi , his grandmother played the organ and piano. He graduated from the Manhattan School of Music , where he studied piano with Constance Keene . Appeared on New York Off-Broadway by Jimmy Roberts A ... My Name Is Still Alice and Pets! as well as music for Joe DiPietro's Over the River and Through the Woods and the children's musical The Velvet Rabbit . For television he wrote the topic for the show Theater Talk on WNET-TV. He was musical director and co-arranger of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Yip Harburgs America . Together with the playwright Joe DiPietro , he wrote the play The Thing About Men based on the film Men by Doris Dörrie .
