Jimmy McCoy Tamandi (born May 12, 1980 in Malmö ) is a Swedish football player . The defender , who joined the Swedish national team in 2001 , has played in Sweden, Italy and Norway throughout his career so far.

career

Tamandi started playing soccer at Nydala IF . In 1992 he joined the youth department of Malmö FF . In 1998 he won the Swedish youth championship title at the side of Zlatan Ibrahimović and Kristian Haynes and went through several Swedish youth selections. A year later he made his debut in the Allsvenskan . Although at the end of the season the relegation was missed and thus the relegation to the Superettan was certain, he remained loyal to the club. In the second division he established himself as a regular player and thus contributed to the direct resurgence. After the successful rise, he played on January 31, 2001 an international match for the Swedish national team. There was a 0-0 draw against the Faroese national team . After another year in the elite series for MFF, he left the club.

In 2002 Tamandi hired at league competitor AIK . In his first season for the new club, he was in the starting line-up in all 26 games of the season. In the following seasons he had to struggle with stronger competition, but still played most of the season's games from the start. At the end of the 2004 season, relegation was missed and Tamandi was relegated for the second time in his career.

However, Tamandi left the club and went to Italy. He signed a contract with the Serie B club Salernitana Calcio . However, the club had changed management and the newly appointed club officials were not interested in his footballing skills. Therefore, he was handed over to Potenza SC in Serie C as soon as possible . However, he was rarely used here and returned to AIK in Sweden.

Towards the end of the 2005 season he played seven more times for AIK in the Superettan and thus also played a part in the return of the traditional team to the first division. He was able to fight for a regular place in the Allsvenskan. In the summer of 2007 there was an uproar when Tamandi had a fight a few days after a lost game with two supporters of his club when they asked him about the game. Thereupon he was declared a "Persona non grata" by the Firman Boys , an ultra fan club of the club.

After the end of the 2007 season Tamandi left the club for free and moved abroad again. Lyn Oslo became a new employer in the Norwegian Tippeligaen . There he plays alongside his fellow countrymen Eddie Gustafsson and Johan Dahlin . Shortly before the start of his first season at the club from the capital of Norway, however, he injured his cruciate ligament . As a result, he was out until the end of the season and was not used in the 2008 season .
