Kristian Haynes (born December 20, 1980 in Malmö ) is a Swedish football player of American origin. The midfielder has played over 250 games in Sweden's professional leagues Allsvenskan and Superettan in his career to date .

Career

Haynes began playing football at Oxie IF in 1987 . He made his debut for the club at the age of fifteen in the first team that competed in Division 4 . In 1998 he moved to Malmö FF , where he first played in the club's youth. On the side of Matías Concha , Jimmy Tamandi and Zlatan Ibrahimović succeeded in winning the Swedish youth championship title. With 20 goals in 18 games, he was one of the most dangerous players in the youth team.

In 2000 Haynes moved to IFK Trelleborg in Division 2 . After only one season he moved on to league rivals Höllvikens GIF . In 2002 he was signed by Trelleborgs FF . In the Superettan he was able to establish himself as a regular player straight away. In the second season he contributed eleven goals to the club's promotion to the Allsvenskan. In his first year in the first division he made 22 appearances, but could only score two goals. At the end of the 2004 season , the team rose again from bottom of the table.

Haynes left the club after relegation and switched to league rivals AIK . Here, too, he was a regular player right away and was able to score six goals. In the following two years, however, he was increasingly plagued by various injuries and hardly played any more. In July 2007, he caused a scandal during a qualifying game for the UEFA Cup against Glentoran FC . After coach Rikard Norling sent him to warm up, but ultimately brought on three other players, he went to the locker room for a shower. He was then suspended by the coach for a week.

In late August 2007, Haynes returned to Trelleborgs FF , who had been promoted back to the Allsvenskan. By the end of the season he played eight times with the shirt number "26" for the team, which was able to keep the class due to the better goal difference compared to the tied competitor IF Brommapojkarna . In the following season he received the number "8" and finally established himself in the midfield of the club. With four goals this season - including a penalty - in the course of the 2009 season , he was one of the pillars alongside Andreas Drugge , Dennis Melander and Peter Abelsson , who helped the club to ninth place in the table. In the following season he improved his number of goals and was one of the club's best internal goalscorers with six goals this season. As fifth in the table, he narrowly missed qualifying for the European Cup with the club . Although he improved his goal yield to nine goals this season in the 2011 season, at the side of Marcus Pode , Joakim Nilsson and Viktor Noring , he missed relegation in the top division when he was penultimate with the club. Slowed down by injuries in the second division, he was only part of the regular line-up here. Although he scored six goals this season in 18 games, the club rose to the third division at the end of the second division season in 2012 .

Shortly before Christmas Eve 2012, Haynes signed a contract with the first division club Mjällby AIF, which was valid until the end of 2015, and joined the southern Swedes on a free transfer. In his first season at the club, he was the club's top scorer with ten goals this season and thus played a key role in staying up. He did not build on this success, in the 2014 season he only scored four goals. Along with the personal failure, the club also slipped to the bottom of the table. Despite a coach change from Lars Jacobsson to Anders Linderoth in July, the club ended the season on a relegation zone.
