Marcus Pode (born March 27, 1986 ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder , who made his Allsvenskan debut in 2006 , has played in Sweden and Denmark throughout his career to date.

Career

Pode started his career at Malmö FF . During the first division season in 2006 he made his debut under coach Tom Prahl for the club in Swedish professional football. In the course of the year he fought for a regular place in the midfield of the club and recommended himself for the U-21 national team supervised by Tommy Söderberg . After another six months in the Swedish elite series, the Danish club FC Nordsjælland reported interest in a commitment.

In the summer of 2007 he moved to Denmark in the Superliga and signed a four-year contract with FC Nordsjælland that ran until 2011. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season he was in the starting line-up of the Farum- based club several times , but could not assert himself there in the long term. In October 2007 he was even counted by the press as one of the biggest flops among the newcomers in the super league. Due to various injuries, he was slowed down in the second half of the season and was subsequently without further use. In May, Trelleborgs FF tried to get the player back to Sweden. However, the clubs could not initially agree, so that Pode remained in Denmark.

After Pode came to two short appearances in the super league in the fall, Trelleborgs FF tried again for a commitment. This time the clubs were able to reach an agreement on the modalities and Pode moved to the southern Swedish club, where he signed a three-year contract. From the move, he hoped to return to the U-21 team in order to take part in the U-21 European Championship in Sweden in 2009 . Under coach Tom Prahl , however, he could not convince permanently and missed his goal. At the beginning he was in the regular formation, but at the latest because of his dismissal in the game against IF Brommapojkarna in the middle of the season, he lost his regular place and ultimately did not play any of his season games over the entire season. In the following years, he improved and was finally in the 2011 season in 24 of the 30 season games in the starting lineup. With eight goals this season, he also proved to be dangerous - only Kristian Haynes scored more goals within the club. Nevertheless, being penultimate in the table, it was not enough to stay in the top division.
