history

The winery has existed since 1396 and has been owned by the Sturmfeder von Oppenweiler family ever since . Until the middle of the 19th century, wine was only grown for personal use. With the purchase of the entire Roter Berg site, commercial viticulture could begin. In 1901, Oppenweiler's Sturmfeder became extinct in the male line, and ownership then passed to the Bentzel-Sturmfeder-Horneck line of heirs.
