Hans-Günther Heinz (born January 11, 1933 in Trier ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

Heinz learned the trade of a businessman. Later he took over the management of a furniture shop in Wittlich .

Political party

Heinz joined the FDP in 1964 and, after Hans-Otto Scholl's resignation in 1981, he was elected as his successor as regional chairman of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate . After the Free Democrats were defeated in the state elections in 1983, he resigned from this office. As state chairman, he was a member of the federal executive committee . Rainer Brüderle was elected as his successor as FDP state chairman .

Heinz was from 1964 to 1999 council member of the city ​​of Wittlich and there until 1999 chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1979 to 1983 and again from 1987 to 2001. From 1987 to 1996 he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. From 1987 to 2001 he was Vice President of the State Parliament.
