Anton Eberhard

Anton Eberhard (born April 9, 1892 in Rechberghausen ; † June 3, 1967 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After attending primary and secondary school, Eberhard completed a commercial apprenticeship and vocational training in accounting and taxation. He also attended commercial college for two years. In 1920/21 he worked as an association syndicate and since 1922 worked as an independent tax and economic advisor in Bad Dürkheim .

Political party

Eberhard was a member of the DVP from 1925 to 1927 . In 1947 he joined the FDP and until 1949 was chairman of the FDP local association Bad Dürkheim, chairman of the FDP district association Neustadt and chairman of the FDP district association Palatinate . In 1950 he was elected to the state board of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate . From May 1951 to May 1953 he was state chairman and from June 1953 state treasurer of the Rhineland-Palatinate Liberals. As state chairman, he represented the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate in the FDP federal executive committee .

MP

Eberhard was elected to the Bad Dürkheim City Council and the Neustadt District Council in 1948 . From 1951 to 1953 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament and chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there in 1951/52. He was a member of the German Bundestag from October 3, 1952, when he replaced Wilhelm Nowack , who had been appointed Minister of Finance for Rhineland-Palatinate , until 1957, and again from November 4, 1959 , until 1961 , when he replaced the resigned MP Fritz Glahn . He always entered parliament via the FDP state list for Rhineland-Palatinate.

Public offices

Eberhard was mayor of Bad Dürkheim from June 1945 to March 1946.
