Cornelia Willius-Senzer (born July 13, 1943 in Mainz , nee Scherning ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament.

Life and education

Cornelia Willius-Senzer was born in Mainz and grew up in Oppenheim . After graduating from business school, she studied foreign languages ​​at the Institut Catholique Versailles and the London School of Oxford. After setting up a sales structure in France and Belgium for a Rheinhessen winery, Willius-Senzer worked as a marketing consultant and interpreter for various international chemical companies. After her marriage to her husband in 1972 she decided to run the Willius-Senzer dance school (today: ADTV Willius-Senzer Tanzschulen Mainz) together with him.

From 2003 to 2019 she acted as President of the General German Dance Teachers Association and since 2011 as President of the European Dance Teachers Association. She is also a member of the Conseil International de la Danse . She has been ADTV Honorary President since 2019.

politics

Willius-Senzer joined the FDP in 2003 and has been deputy chairwoman of the FDP district association in Mainz since 2014.

Since 2006 she has been a member of the city council of the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital Mainz and deputy parliamentary group leader. In the parliamentary group, she is responsible for the areas of culture and education.

In the 2016 state elections , she ran in the Mainz I constituency and was elected to the 17th state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate via the state list . She chaired the constituent meeting on May 18, 2016 as age president . In the state parliament, she works as a member of the Committee on European Issues and One World, Committee on Society, Integration and Consumer Protection, and on the Election Review Committee.

On October 2, 2017, she was elected as the successor to Thomas Roth as chairman of the FDP parliamentary group.

Cornelia Willius-Senzer was appointed senator to the “Senate of Economy” in November 2015. She is also an advisory member of the supervisory board of Staatstheater Mainz GmbH and of the board of directors of the Mainz Adult Education Center. She is a member of the broadcasting council of Südwestrundfunk .

Private

Willius-Senzer is married and has a son and a daughter. She is the daughter-in-law of Aenne Willius-Senzer .
