Aenne Willius-Senzer

Aenne Willius-Senzer (born September 10, 1896 in Mainz ; born Senzer ; † January 31, 1991 ) was a German ballet dancer and dance teacher.

Career

Anne Senzer made her debut at the Stadttheater Mainz at the age of ten . There she was initially seen in children's roles. After completing her apprenticeship, she became a solo dancer and a ballet master in the early 1930s. She danced operettas and operas, among others together with Käthe Dorsch at Fidelen Bauer .

In 1923 she resigned from the stage and founded a dance school in Mainz, which today is one of the most renowned and largest dance schools in Germany. In 1926 she married the banker Franz Willius. After her house was destroyed in the Second World War , she rebuilt the school from 1946, initially at Weihergarten. Later the school moved to Karmeliterplatz , since 1960 in the rebuilt “Hof zum Spiegelberg” from 1976 in the new “Stockheimer Hof”.
