Günter Storch
Günter Walter Storch (born February 2, 1926 in Oberhausen ; † August 3, 2004 in Mainz ) was a German economist and politician ( FDP ).
Life and work
After graduating from high school, Storch began studying economics , which he completed with the examination as a graduate economist and with the doctorate to become a Dr. rer. pole. finished. From 1969 to 1988 he was a board member of LRP Landesbank Rheinland-Pfalz , 1986/88 deputy chairman of the board and from 1988 until his retirement in 1994 he was a member of the board of directors of the Deutsche Bundesbank .
Political party
Storch joined the FDP , was 25 years chairman of the FDP district association Mainz and temporarily chairman of the FDP district association Rheinhessen - Vorderpfalz . He also acted as the Liberals' state treasurer. He was also chairman of the Society for Liberal Politics in Rhineland-Palatinate and treasurer of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .
MP
Storch was a council member of the city of Mainz and there from 1960 to 1993 chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. He belonged to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament and was also chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there from 1963 to 1969.

- The square in front of the LRP Landesbank Rheinland-Pfalz in Mainz was named after him.
