Manfred Harder (lawyer)

Manfred Harder (born November 15, 1937 in Frankfurt am Main ; † May 17, 2000 in Mainz ) was a German lawyer and university professor. From 1980 to 1984 he was President of the University of Mainz.

Life

Manfred Harder was founded in 1967 at the Free University of Berlin Dr. jur. PhD . In 1971 he completed his habilitation at the Free University and initially taught there as a professor. In 1972 he became a full professor at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , where he taught Roman and civil law as well as the history of modern private law. From 1980 to 1984 he was President of the University of Mainz.

From 1987 to 1993 Harder also worked as a judge at the Palatinate Higher Regional Court in Zweibrücken .

One academic student is Inge Kroppenberg , who holds the chair for Roman law, civil law and modern history of private law at the Institute for Legal History, Legal Philosophy and Comparative Law of the Faculty of Law of the Georg-August University in Göttingen .
