Valentin Wallauer

Valentin Wallauer (born March 18, 1899 in Kreuznach ; † August 30, 1982 ibid) was a German lawyer and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Valentin Wallauer was born the son of an innkeeper and wine merchant. After attending elementary school and graduating from high school in Bad Kreuznach in 1917, he took part in the First World War as a soldier until 1918 . A year later he began studying history and economics at the universities in Marburg and Freiburg . He later switched to law and continued his studies in Freiburg and at the University of Bonn . In 1924 he passed the first state examination in law in Cologne , and in 1930 he passed the second in Berlin . In the following years he worked as a court assessor in Bonn until he took up a position as a local judge in Baumholder in 1935. In 1942 he moved to Bad Kreuznach in the same position. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier , most recently as a lieutenant in the reserve.

After the end of the war, Wallauer was able to continue his legal career because he was not a member of the NSDAP. In January 1947 he was entrusted with the management of the attorney general in Rhineland-Palatinate and as such was assigned to the Koblenz Higher Regional Court. In addition, he had been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate Constitutional Court since June 1947 . From October 1947 until his dismissal in June 1949, he served as President of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Appeal and Chairman of the Chamber of Appeal in Koblenz . In 1948 he was promoted to district court director. After his transfer, he first worked as a judge at the Mainz Regional Court and from January 1950 as a judge at the Bad Kreuznach Regional Court .

Wallauer was a member of the German State Party from 1930 to 1933 . He joined the CDU in 1946 and was elected to the district council of the Bad Kreuznach district and the city councils of the city of Bad Kreuznach that same year . After moving to the FDP, he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1955 to 1967, where he was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group from 1957 to 1959.

Valentin Wallauer was married and had five children.
