Christof Rasche (born June 4, 1962 in Erwitte ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and banker.

Life

Rasche is the son of a former mayor of Erwitte. After receiving his secondary school leaving certificate in 1978, he completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Sparkasse Erwitte, which he successfully completed in 1981. He then continued to work for the bank. In 1987 he was promoted to branch manager. In 1990 Rasche completed his advanced training as a savings bank specialist. He was given leave of absence from Sparkasse Erwitte-Anröchte in 2000 to fulfill his state parliament mandate. Christof Rasche is married for the second time and has one child.

Rasche was first a member of the Junge Union . When his father was not re-elected by the CDU, he resigned from the CDU and together with his brother in 1979 founded a local FDP association. He has been chairman of the FDP city association Erwitte since 1996 and a member of the board of the FDP district association Westphalia-South. In 1999 the FDP achieved 18.5 percent in the local elections in Erwitte, which prompted Jürgen Möllemann to allow Rasche to think about running for the state parliament. From 2000 to 2011 he was chairman of the FDP district association Soest. In 2004 Rasche became a member of the FDP state executive in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2010 Rasche took over the chairmanship of the FDP district association Westphalia-South. Since 2013 he has been a member of the executive board of the FDP NRW due to his offices as parliamentary managing director or chairman of the parliamentary group.

Christof Rasche has been chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Erwitte City Council since 1994 and has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since June 2, 2000 . He was always elected to the state parliament via the state list of the FDP. He also ran for election in the Soest II constituency , where he was 11.7% ( 2000 ), 8.7% ( 2005 ), 7.6% ( 2010 ), 6.5% ( 2012 ) and 10.3% ( 2017 ) who received (first) votes (up to and including 2005, voting in North Rhine-Westphalia was based on one-vote).

From 2002 to 2012 he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group and spokesman for construction, transport and sport. Rasche chairs the transport working group of the nationwide FDP parliamentary group chairman conference. From May 29, 2012 to October 2017, he was Parliamentary Managing Director of the FDP parliamentary group. After Christian Lindner resigned his position as chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rasche has been chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament since mid-October 2017.
