Achim Rohde (* 22. May 1936 in Dusseldorf ) is a German politician ( FDP ), a lawyer and former district president of the administrative district of Dusseldorf .

Live and act

After graduating from the Düsseldorf Görres-Gymnasium studied Rohde 1956-1961 political science and law at the universities of Bonn and Munich and received his doctorate in 1967 for Dr. jur. (Topic of the dissertation : Crime in the Bundeswehr: Violations of the Military Penal Act ). Afterwards he worked in various ministries at state and federal level. From 1975 to 1983 he was the district president of the Düsseldorf administrative district and from 1984 to 1985 a management consultant.

Rohde, who joined the FDP in 1961, was a member of the tenth and eleventh state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 1985 to May 1995 . He moved into the state parliament as the top candidate of the FDP NRW . During this time he was also chairman of the FDP state parliamentary group as well as a member of the FDP state executive committee and the FDP federal executive committee . From 1985 to 1990 NRW was governed by the SPD alone ( Cabinet Rau III ).

In 1995 he founded the “Liberal Offensive in the FDP” with Alexander von Stahl and Heiner Kappel and in 1996/97 he was one of the founders of the national liberal - right-wing conservative journalists network Voice of the Majority .

From 1999 to 2014 he was a member of the city council of Neuss , where he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group.

In 2002, Rohde received the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . He lives in the Gnadental district of Neuss .
