Heinz Lange
Heinz Lange (born November 5, 1914 in Politz , Bohemia ; † January 29, 1985 ) was a German politician , member of the Waffen-SS , member of the NSDAP , later the FDP , NLA , DU and CDU .
Life and work
After attending elementary school and graduating from high school, Lange began studying law and political science at the universities in Leipzig and Prague , which he completed with a doctorate. He then worked as a businessman in industry. He took part in the Second World War as a member of the Waffen SS in the SS division “ Das Reich ” and spent two years as a prisoner of war.
After his release from captivity, Lange moved to West Germany as a displaced person and settled in Mülheim an der Ruhr . Here he was employed again as an industrial clerk. He was also a member of the Federal Assembly of the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft and acted as Federal Chairman of the Witikobund from 1959 to 1983 .
Political party
For a long time he had been the leader of the Sudeten German Youth since 1929. Initially leader of the Hitler Youth (HJ), he became a member of the NSDAP after the annexation of the Sudetenland to the German Reich in 1938 .
Lange joined the FDP in 1950, was chairman of the FDP district Ruhr-West and was elected to the state executive committee of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1952 to 1954 he was state chairman of the German Young Democrats (DJD). In 1970 he co-founded the National Liberal Action (NLA), switched to the German Union (DU) in 1971 and was its state chairman in North Rhine-Westphalia until 1974. He later joined the CDU.
MP
Lange was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from 1954 to 1975, was first deputy chairman there from 1966 to 1969 and then chairman of the FDP parliamentary group from October 1969 to July 1970. In the early 1970s he was accepted into the CDU parliamentary group.
