Hermann Stroke

Hermann Strich (born December 1, 1921 in Cottbus ; † June 17, 2014 in Düsseldorf ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer .

Life

After attending school, Strich was drafted into the Wehrmacht and participated in World War II as a soldier from 1939 to 1945 . From 1945 to 1949 he studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , passed the first state examination in law and then worked as a trainee lawyer in the administrative service in Lower Saxony. In 1954 he was at Göttingen at Werner Weber with the theme The State Commissioner in municipal law for Dr. jur. PhD .

Strich joined the public service of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in March 1955 , initially worked as an administrative clerk at the district government in Düsseldorf and from 1955 to 1956 worked as a research assistant at the Münster Higher Administrative Court . From 1956 to 1960 he worked as a department head in the Düsseldorf district government and in 1959 became head of the department there for organizational and personnel matters. In January 1961 he moved to the administration of the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of the Interior. Here he was responsible as a personnel officer for the district governments in Aachen , Arnsberg , Detmold , Düsseldorf and Cologne as well as their subordinate authorities, from 1967 as a group leader in the public service department (personnel organization and budget).

From November 1983 to December 1986, Strich was President of the District Government of Düsseldorf.
