Otto Frank (politician, 1900)

Otto Frank (born September 16, 1900 in Obermoschel ; † May 29, 1963 in Untersulzbach ) was a German farmer and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Frank attended high school and was a soldier in World War I in 1918 . From 1919 to 1920 he was an agricultural volunteer before studying agriculture at the Hohenheim Agricultural University, the Technical University of Munich and the University of Göttingen from 1921 to 1926. In 1926 he completed his studies with a degree in agriculture. From 1926 to 1932 he was managing director of the Palatinate farmers and from 1933 he was an independent mill owner and farmer. In the years 1938 to 1944 he worked as a senior employee at the Reichsnährstand . In 1944 and 1945 he did military service again and was taken prisoner of war . After the war he was again an independent farmer.

politics

In 1926 Frank became a member of the NSDAP , but resigned before January 1, 1930. From 1931 to 1933 he was a member of the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten (Junglandbundführer). In 1931 he rejoined the NSDAP and was the deputy local group trainer there. In 1938 he became head of staff at the Simmern district farming community. From 1941 to 1944 he was acting head of the Birkenfeld district farming community.

In 1949 he became a member of the FDP. In 1951 he was elected to the second Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged for one electoral terms until 1955. In the state parliament he was a member of the agricultural policy committee, committee for social policy and questions of displaced persons and border region committee. In addition, he volunteered in various agricultural organizations.
