Anders Linderoth (born March 21, 1950 in Kristianstad , Sweden ) is a former Swedish football player who now works as a coach .
Career
Club career
Linderoth began playing football in 1955 at Näsby IF . In 1962 he moved to Stattena IF before making his professional debut in Division 1 at Helsingborgs IF . In 1971 he went to Östers IF in the Allsvenskan . Here he was quickly one of the leading players and shaped the game of the club. In 1976 he was awarded the Guldbollen as Sweden's Footballer of the Year. A year later, they won the first title with a 1-0 final win in the Swedish National Cup against Hammarby IF . In the same year he moved to Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1 . In 1980 he returned to Sweden and competed for Mjällby AIF in Allsvenskan. However, the club rose from bottom of the table in Division 1. He then returned to his home club Näsby IF, where he worked as a player-coach until 1984.
National team
Linderoth ran 40 times for the Swedish national team between 1972 and 1980 . He got two goals. He was part of the Swedish squad at the 1978 World Cup and was used in all three games.
Coaching career
After the end of his active career, Linderoth worked as a coach for various clubs. He was in charge of IF Elfsborg , Hammarby IF , Landskrona BoIS and in Norway Stabæk Fotball and Viborg FF . In 2010 he returned to his hometown club Mjällby AIF as a youth coach. He later worked there as an assistant coach.
In July 2014, Mjällby AIF dismissed former head coach Lars Jacobsson while lying on the relegation site and signed Linderoth as his successor until the end of the season, Jonas Andersson and Patrik Rosengren completed the coaching staff as his assistants.

Anders Linderoth is the father of the Swedish national player Tobias Linderoth , who played for the clubs his father looked after at the beginning of his career.
