Victoria Sandell Svensson
Victoria Sandell Svensson (born May 18, 1977 in Rånnaväg , Ulricehamn municipality as Victoria Svensson ), called "Vickan", is a Swedish football player and former national record player in her country.
Career
In 1998 and 2003 she won the " Diamantbollen ", the equivalent of the award for soccer player of the year in Germany. She started her extraordinary career with the small club Grönahögs IK before moving to the Gothenburg club Jitex BK . Since moving to Älvsjö AIK in Stockholm in 1998 and then to the club Djurgårdens IF / Älvsjö , which resulted from the merger of the women's football clubs Älvsjö AIK and Djurgårdens IF , she has become four times Swedish champion. She was also the top scorer in the first Swedish women's league Damallsvenskan in 1998, 2001 and 2003 .
On March 9, 2009 she set Kristin Bengtsson's record with 157 international matches when she played against Germany at the Algarve Cup . Two days later she became Sweden's sole record national player with her 158th international match in the final of the Algarve Cup, which Sweden won on penalties against the USA. After losing 3-1 to Norway in the quarter-finals of the 2009 European Championships , she ended her national team career. Sandell Svensson scored 68 goals in 166 international matches. On March 7, 2011 Therese Sjögran set her record of 166 games and increased it to 167 games on March 9.
Sandell Svensson has been married to Camilla Sandell, twin sister of the former national soccer player Cecilia Sandell , since 2008 .
