Sven-Ove Svensson (born June 9, 1922 - December 21, 1986 ) was a Swedish football player .

career

Svensson, nicknamed "SOS", played for Helsingborgs IF in Allsvenskan . In 1951, the midfielder made his debut in the Swedish national team . Three years later he was awarded the Guldbollen as Sweden's Footballer of the Year. By 1956 he played 31 international matches before his career ended abruptly. A meniscus damage was mishandled, could not play more football so that Svensson. With that, the dream of the World Cup in their own country was over .
