Roy Andersson (born August 2, 1949 in Kirseberg , Malmö ) is a former Swedish football player .

career

Andersson played for Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan in the 1970s and early 1980s . With the club he was five times Swedish champion and cup winner . With the club he reached the final of the 1978/79 European Cup , whereupon he was awarded the Svenska-Dagbladet gold medal with the team . In 1977 he also received the Guldbollen as Sweden's Footballer of the Year.

Andersson completed 20 international matches for the Swedish national team . At the 1978 World Cup he was used in all three group matches.

Roy Andersson is the father of the Swedish internationals Patrik and Daniel Andersson .
