Cecilia Sandell

Cecilia Sandell (born June 10, 1968 ) is a former Swedish soccer player .

career

Sandell started her football career at Asarums IF . In 1984 she went to Lindsdals IF before moving to Älvsjö AIK in 1993 . With the club, which dominated Swedish women's football from the mid-1990s, she won the Swedish championship five times and the Swedish Cup twice by the end of her career in 2000. In 1999 she received the Diamond Ball as Sweden's Footballer of the Year .

Sandell ran in 62 full international matches for the Swedish women's national team and was able to score three goals. With the selection, she took part in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games as well as the 1999 World Cup and the 1997 European Championship .

After the end of her active career, she sat for two seasons at Älvsjö AIK as an assistant coach from 2001 onwards.
