Lindsdals Idrottsföreningen is a Swedish football club from Kalmar . The club is known for its women's football team, which played two seasons in Damallsvenskan .
history
Lindsdals IF was founded on July 26, 1926. In the 1970s and 1980s, the club's men's team played several times at the third level, but could not establish itself in the long term. The women's soccer team rose to Damallsvenskan for the first time in late 1991. There she played in the back midfield of the league in the 1992 season , but was able to leave GAIS , Djurgårdens IF and Sundsvalls DFF behind and manage to keep the league . In the following season, only two wins of the season were successful, so that the club had to relegate together with newly promoted Mallbackens IF . As a result, the team said goodbye to higher-class football.
After the men's team of Lindsdals IF had only played in the lower class regional area for a long time, they made the leap to fourth class at the end of the 2001 season. There she played against relegation, which was not prevented in 2005. After the immediate resurgence, she occupied the relegation place in 2007, but was able to stay in the league. Two years later, the club finished third, but was 17 points behind the season winner and promoted Lunds BK . At the same time, the club's women's team held out in the third division.
