Patrik Rosengren (born July 25, 1971 in Sölvesborg ) is a former Swedish football player . The defender won the Swedish championship and the national cup with Kalmar FF .

Career

Rosengren learned to play football in the youth of Mjällby AIF . As a young player, he moved up to the squad of the then second-rate competition team at the end of the 1980s. After the club's relegation to the third division in late 1990, he established himself as a regular player and returned to the second division with the club the following year. Here he kept his regular place, although the club again only appeared in third class in the 1994 and 1995 seasons. At the end of 1999 he qualified with the club for the newly introduced single-track Superettan as the second division in Sweden. With 29 appearances each, he contributed twice in a row to reaching the relegation place to Allsvenskan , but the team failed at BK Häcken and IFK Norrköping .

However, Rosengren had convinced higher class and at the beginning of 2002 he joined the first division club Kalmar FF . Under coach Nanne Bergstrand , he was also one of the regular players at his new club, but the team was relegated from the Swedish House of Lords at the end of the 2002 season . With 22 season appearances in the Superettan, he contributed to the direct resurgence, then he helped the team as a regular in central defense to establish itself in the Allsvenskan. Although they missed the championship title as runner-up in the 2007 season with one point behind IFK Göteborg , when the two clubs met in the cup final he formed the defensive line together with Arthur Sorin , Tobias Carlsson and Mikael Eklund in front of goalkeeper Petter Wastå Patrik Ingelsten and the twice successful César Santin did not allow a goal to concede and thus guaranteed the third national title win in the club's history.

In the following season a duel with IF Elfsborg developed for the championship. With another 22 stakes, Rosengren was ultimately involved in winning the championship title for the first time alongside players like Viktor Elm , Henrik Rydström and Rasmus Elm . He then left the club and returned to his home club, where he signed a one-year contract shortly after the end of the season. With the club he rose to the Allsvenskan and in the following years he extended his contract by one season. In October 2012 he finally announced the end of his active career at the age of 41 at the end of the season.

At the end of November it was announced that Rosengren is planned as the future junior coach of Mjällby AIF. After the dismissal of the previous head coach Lars Jacobsson in July 2014, he completed the coaching staff of the newly hired Anders Linderoth as an assistant coach .
