Petter Wastå (born February 2, 1976 ) is a Swedish football player . The goalkeeper has played over 200 games in Allsvenskan for Kalmar FF and won the Swedish championship and the Svenska Cup once with the club .

Career

Wastå started playing football on Torsås GoIF . In the summer of 1992 he moved to the youth department of Östers IF . At the Mariedals Cup , a renowned youth tournament in Borås , he was voted best goalkeeper in 1993. In the same year he moved up to the professional squad at Östers IF and had his only international match in the shirt of the Swedish U21 national team when he ran up against the Norwegian junior team in Växjö alongside players like Tommy Jönsson , Jörgen Pettersson and Erik Wahlstedt .

In 1994 Wastå moved on to Kalmar FF. There he made his debut at the age of 19 in the goal of the first team. After initially being the substitute behind Anders Karlsson , he was soon able to displace him from the space between the posts. In the following years he experienced ups and downs with the club. In 1996, the team was relegated to the third division , but then made the march through to the Allsvenskan. Then they shuttled between first and second class, before the establishment in the Allsvenskan succeeded after the rise in 2003. In the 2007 season he overtook Leif Friberg , who had played in 132 games for KFF in the Allsvenskan, as Kalmar's goalkeeper with most top division games. After winning the runner-up in the league behind IFK Göteborg , he reached the cup final with KFF. With goals from César Santin , who scored twice, and Patrik Ingelsten won the cup against the champions. In the following season, KFF dominated the league for a long time and was able to celebrate the Swedish championship title for the first time with a 2-2 draw at Halmstads BK on the last match day, Wastå was used in 29 of 30 games of the season. In the cup final, IFK Göteborg took revenge for last year's defeat and prevailed on penalties after Wastå and his opponent Kim Christensen had not conceded.

In the following years Wastå did not build on the success with the team in the league and occupied places in the middle of the table. During the 2010 season , Etrit Berisha ousted him as a regular between the posts. After injuring his opponent, he returned to the field in the last third of the following season and was thus also in the final of the national cup, which was lost to champions Helsingborgs IF with a 1: 3 defeat. Wastå caused a penalty, which Christoffer Andersson converted to the final score.
