Joakim Nilsson (born May 16, 1985 in Höllviken , municipality of Vellinge ) is a Swedish football player . The defensive player has been playing in Swedish professional football since 2003.

Career

Nilsson started playing football in his hometown at Höllvikens GIF . At the age of eleven he switched to the youth team at Malmö FF . Here he was also noticed by those responsible for the Swedish federation and was appointed to various junior national teams.

On April 21, 2003 Nilsson came against Landskrona BoIS to his in the Allsvenskan . Due to various injuries, he was initially unable to establish himself in the first team in the following years. It was not until the 2006 season that he made his breakthrough at the club alongside other young talents such as Marcus Pode and Behrang Safari and he played 23 of the 26 season games. In the following season he was also part of the regular staff, but was only a substitute from the fourth day of play. After he was unable to assert himself in the long term, the club loaned him to the second division Mjällby AIF shortly after the start of the 2009 season . In the Superettan he played ten games up to the summer and was able to convince in midfield.

In the summer of 2009, Nilsson then changed clubs again. He signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the first division club Trelleborgs FF , which is supervised by Tom Prahl . Initially a regular player, he was only in 14 of his 22 league appearances in the 2010 season . In the following season he had fought back his regular place and was in the starting lineup in all of his missions. Despite his two goals this season, the team around Fredrik Jensen , Magnus Andersson , Ibrahim Koroma and Kristian Haynes missed the league as penultimate in the top division.
