Jin Ling is a cigarette brand of the "Baltic Tobacco Factory" ( Russian Балтийская Табачная фабрика , BTF). The name is derived from an earlier name of the Chinese city of Nanjing , which was once called Jinling ( Chinese金陵 'Golden Hill').

These cigarettes are primarily produced in Kaliningrad (the former Königsberg) and other Eastern European locations and are illegally exported to Central and Western Europe, mainly to Germany, for example to Berlin and the Ruhr area as well as to Great Britain, through cigarette smuggling .

The cigarettes are offered in a pale yellow hard box of 20, which is provided with the logo of a wild sheep and is intended to be reminiscent of the " camel camel ". The brand is only available on the black market in the European Union , but was ninth on the list of the most smoked cigarettes in Germany in 2009. The price of a box for the end customer is considerably lower than that for taxed cigarettes. A stick (200 pieces) is sometimes available in Germany for less than 20 euros (as of 2010), the box price is two euros or less. At the manufacturer "Baltic Tobacco Factory" the purchase price for a stick is around two euros.

It is estimated that at least five billion cigarettes of this brand enter the European Union every year.

The tabloid Berliner Kurier reported in 2010 that there were fakes of Jin Ling that could no longer be distinguished from the original, and that they could contain feathers, mites, wood, pesticides, mold spores, rat excrement and other pollutants because these cigarettes were under very low poor production conditions.
