The Jinanqiao Dam ( Chinese  金 安桥 水库 ) is a dam project under construction with a hydropower plant in southwest China. It arises on the Jinsha Jiang (Chinese name for the upper reaches of the Yangtze River ) and its tributary Wulang Jiang in Lijiang Prefecture in Yunnan Province .

Construction work on the dam began in December 2006 and it was put into operation in 2010. The barrier structure is a concrete gravity dam .

The hydropower plant has a capacity of 2400  MW . In a second phase, the capacity in combination with the Liyuan hydropower plant is to be expanded to 4500 to 5000 MW.

The plant belongs to the private Chinese energy company Hanergy , which also operates other hydropower plants in China.
