The Longkaikou Dam is a dam under construction on Jinsha Jiang (Chinese name for the upper reaches of the Yangtze River ) near Lijiang in Yunnan Province , People's Republic of China . The dam will be a 119 m high weight dam (according to other information 113 m) made of rolled concrete (RCC). Construction work began in 2007 and was interrupted by the Ministry of the Environment in June 2009 because construction had been carried out without an environmental assessment and without a permit. Around 2000 people have to be resettled for the reservoir. There will also be fish production in the reservoir.

In the hydropower plant completed in 2013, five turbines each drive a generator with an output of 360 MW each. The total output of the systems is thus 1800 MW. This means that 7.82 billion kWh of energy can be produced in an average year  .
