Jing Jun Hong
Jing Jun Hong ( Chinese 井 浚 泓 , Pinyin Jǐng Jùnhóng , born October 13, 1968 in Shanghai ) is a table tennis player and trainer from Singapore who came fourth at the 2000 Olympic Games.
Career
Jing Jun Hong, who was born in Shanghai, first played for China internationally and came second in doubles with Liu Wei at the 1990 Asian Cup . In China it was considered number three. A little later she emigrated to Singapore and has since performed internationally for this country. In April 1994 she was granted citizenship of Singapore. In 1992 she again reached the final in doubles with Gao Dong Ping at the Asian Championships.
From 1993 to 2004 she was nominated for all eight world championships . Here she reached the quarterfinals in doubles with Li Jia Wei in 2003 . She achieved ten first places at the Commonwealth Games and sixteen at the South East Asian Championships.
In 1996 , 2000 and 2004 she took part in the Olympic Games. Here she came in 2000 in the singles on the fourth place when she lost in the semifinals against Chen Jing (Taiwan).
In 1997, 1998 and 2001 she was Singapore Sportsman of the Year . In the early 2000s, Jing Jun Hong played for Dutch teams. With Henk ten Hoor DTK she won the European Cup in the 2001/02 season .
In the ITTF world rankings , Jing Jun Hong was mostly in the top 20 from 1993 to May 2003. At the end of 1993, it was listed the highest at number 11.
After the end of her active career, Jing Jun Hong worked as a coach (Jing Jun Hong) of the women's national team.
Private
Jing Jun Hong is married to the former Singapore national player and table tennis coach Loy Soo Han, with whom she has a son.
