Georges "Jo" Privat (born April 15, 1919 in Ménilmontant , Paris , † April 3, 1996 in Savigny-le-Temple ) was a French accordionist and songwriter , who is particularly remembered for his contributions to musette music and jazz .

At first privately she worked with the young Edith Piaf . He then performed for several decades in the Parisian dance hall Balajo , where he worked with Émile Vacher , Django Reinhardt , Baro and Matelo Ferret , Didier Roussin (1949–1996) and later with Patrick Saussois . He composed more than 500 pieces of music. He not only recorded with his own ensemble, but also in small ensembles, for example with Matelo Ferret ( Manouche partie ) and with Tony Muréna ( Tangos et pasos éternels ).
