Joachim Fontheim

Joachim Fontheim (born May 3, 1922 in Leipzig ; † May 8, 2007 in Krefeld ) was a German actor, director and theater director.

Life

Fontheim was engaged as an actor at the United Städtische Bühnen Krefeld Mönchengladbach from 1955 to 1959 , and appeared in parallel in 1956 in Der Hexer . He then went to Essen as head director, and in 1963 also directed the television production of the play The Laokoon Group by Tadeusz Różewicz . In 1966 Fontheim also staged in Frankfurt am Main. From 1966 to 1985 he was general manager at the United City Theaters in Krefeld Mönchengladbach for many years. He also directed the Feuchtwangen Cloister Games from 1979 to 1988 .

His son Matthias Fontheim is also the director.

Joachim Fontheim Sponsorship Award

Fontheim was already engaged as artistic director for the next generation of artists and, as part of his legacy, donated the Joachim Fontheim Prize for Young Talent, which has been awarded in Krefeld since 2010. The prizewinners were Anne Später in 2010, Helen-Elisabeth Wendt in 2012 and Andreas Fellner in 2014.
