(18349) Dafydd is a main outer belt asteroid discovered on July 25, 1990 by the American astronomer Henry E. Holt at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) in California .
The asteroid was named on February 9, 2009 after Dafydd ap Llywelyn , a prince from the Gwynedd kingdom in the 13th century. Exactly 750 years to the day before the asteroid was discovered, Dafydd reformed Welsh law. A Welsh committee had proposed the name after Dafydd ap Llywelyn.
