Joachim Gres (born March 1, 1947 in Hameln ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1966 at the Comenius Gymnasium in Düsseldorf , Gres studied law in Heidelberg and Bonn . He passed the first state examination in 1971 in Bonn and the second state examination in Wiesbaden in 1974 . During his studies in Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Rhenania .

In 1974 Gres established himself as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main. Since 1989 he has also been a notary . Until 2017 he was a partner at the major law firm CMS Hasche Sigle , where he was previously a member of the partner committee for many years and most recently a senior partner.

politics

In 1971 Gres became a member of the CDU. From 1977 to 1990 he was a member of the city council of Frankfurt am Main , where he was most recently deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1990 to 1998 he sat as a directly elected representative for the Bundestag constituency Frankfurt II in the German Bundestag . In the German Bundestag he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in two committees of inquiry, a member of the legal committee of the German Bundestag, most recently legal advisor of the CDU parliamentary group.
