Joachim Lindner (engineer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joachim Lindner (born March 29, 1938 ) is a German civil engineer ( steel construction ).

Lindner studied civil engineering at the TU Berlin , worked briefly in the steel construction industry and received his doctorate in 1970 under Karlheinz Roik at the TU Berlin (dissertation: Approximate determination of the load-bearing loads of I-beams subjected to bending and torsion ). In 1972 he completed his habilitation there, and from 1972 to 1974 he worked for the Hünnebeck company in Ratingen under Friedrich Nather and from 1974 was a full professor of steel construction at the TU Berlin.

Among other things, he dealt with stability issues and was chairman of TC 8 (stability issues) of the European Convention on Steel Construction (EKS) and chairman of the committee on DIN 18800-2 (stability of rods and frameworks) and member of the committee on DIN 18800-3 ( Plate dents). Lindner had an engineering office. From 1981 to 1992 he succeeded Kurt Klöppel as the editor of Der Stahlbau . Lindner is a test engineer for metal, solid and wood construction and tested, among other things, the roof of the Sony Center in Berlin , the Reuter West thermal power station and the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin.

In 2013 he received the Charles Massonnet Prize . With Herbert Schmidt, Lindner was honored by the German Steel Construction Association with the German Steel Construction Award 2014 .
