Joachim Münch (lawyer)

Joachim Münch (born February 16, 1959 in Ulm ) is a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

Joachim Münch studied 1978-1981 jurisprudence as part of the Baden-Württemberg -stage legal education at the University of Konstanz . In 1981 he passed the first and in 1984 the second state examination in law. He is a student of Rolf Stürner .

In 1988 he was at the University of Konstanz with Scripture Enforceable certificate and procedural claim scl to doctor of law doctorate . His habilitation followed in 1996 at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg with the granting of the license to teach the subjects of civil law , commercial law , civil procedural law and comparative law . In the same year, Münch was appointed to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and has held the chair for civil law, commercial law, German and foreign civil procedure law there since 1996 (successor Wolfram Henckel ). He declined further offers to the universities in Kiel (1999) and Tübingen (2003). His work focuses on arbitration law and insolvency law.

At the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen he was Vice President from 2005 to 2012, Dean from 2000 to 2001 and Dean of Studies of the Faculty of Law from 2003 to 2005 . He is the director of the Institute for Private and Procedural Law and the Institute for Notary Law of the Faculty.
