Joachim Ringel (born December 20, 1942 in Dessau ) was a football player in Dessau and Riesa . For BSG Stahl Riesa he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in the GDR.

Ringel first played football in his hometown with the company sports associations (BSG) Lok and Motor Dessau. At the beginning of the 1967/68 season he joined the BSG Stahl Riesa, which played in the second-rate GDR league . In his first season in Riesa, Ringel rose to the top division. However, it was difficult for him to establish himself in the first division football. In his first league season 1968/69 he played only six games, only three of them over the full playing time. In 1969/70 he benefited from the departure of defender Günter Mirring and played regularly as a Libero in the second half of the season from the 17th matchday on . He lost this regular place again in the following two seasons when he was used only three times in 1970/71 and only in 15 league games in 1971/72. At the end of the 1971/72 season Stahl Riesa rose again from the GDR league. After being promoted immediately, Ringel had his best league season. As a set right full-back, he played 23 of the 26 point games played. This series seemed to continue in the 1974/75 season, but Ringel was injured after the first four point games. It was not until the winter of 1974 that he was used again, but no longer had a fixed position and oscillated between midfield and defense. The last day of the season was also Ringel's last league game. In the encounter between Stahl Riesa and Berliner FC Dynamo (0: 2) on May 24, 1975, he was substituted on again in the 66th minute. After 75 league games in which he scored twice, Ringel ended his career as a competitive footballer at the age of 32.

After his active time as a football player, Ringel, a qualified sports teacher by profession, once again became known as the trainer for the GDR league team at TSG Gröditz . He coached the team in the 1982/83 and 1983/84 seasons.
