Joachim Schwabe (born August 24, 1983 in Jena ) is a former German soccer player .

Football career

Schwabe went through all youth teams of FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In 2002 he became a regular player in the first team of Jena in the Oberliga Nordost . In 2004 he moved to the second team at VfB Stuttgart . In October 2005, Schwabe was hit by a careless police officer in a police car when he was riding a bicycle through a park. In this accident Schwabe's sixth thoracic vertebra was broken several times. After a necessary operation, Schwabe only made his comeback for the second team of VfB Stuttgart in the 2006/07 season.

Schwabe made his professional debut on August 2, 2008 on the second day of the 2008/09 season for VfB II in the third division against 1. FC Union Berlin . Ten days later Schwabe tore his anterior right cruciate ligament when he got stuck on the lawn while training . After the first operation on the cruciate ligament, he had to undergo another operation a few weeks later because of an infection in his knee. After more than eight months of injury, Schwabe played again in April 2009 against SV Sandhausen for the first time in the third division for VfB's second team and scored a goal in the same game.

In summer 2009 he moved to FSV 08 Bissingen and ended his active football career a year later in favor of his studies. He was at the University of Würzburg in the compartment Human Medicine enrolled, the study successfully finished in 2017th

politics

Schwabe is a board member of Jusos Stuttgart West. In the Stuttgart municipal council elections in 2009, Schwabe stood for 40th place on the list for the SPD . He received 22,665 votes and thus missed the entry into the Stuttgart municipal council.
