Joachim Stünkel

Joachim Stünkel (born September 5, 1952 in Lüthorst ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school in Holzminden , he studied law . Later he took over his parents' farm in Lüthorst.

He has been a member of the CDU and the Junge Union since 1972 . Since 1978 he has been on the board of the CDU district association Northeim and on the CDU district board of Hildesheim. Until 2014 he was also a member of the CDU state committee for Lower Saxony.

From 2002 to 2008 Stünkel was a member of the state parliament. In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2008 , Stünkel lost his direct mandate in the Einbeck constituency to the SPD candidate Uwe Schwarz and left the state parliament. In November 2011 he moved to the state parliament for Wittich Schobert , who had been elected mayor of Helmstedt , via the CDU state list .

Stünkel lost his mandate in the 2013 state election. Uwe Schwarz won the direct mandate again. In the absence of list mandates from the CDU, Stünkel was unable to enter the state parliament via the list.

Joachim Stünkel has also been a member of the Northeim district council since 1986 and has also been the deputy chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group there since 2001. Since 1977 he has been a member of the council of the city of Dassel . Here he is chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. Since 2008 he has also been chairman of the Northeim district's cultural and monument foundation.
