Joachim von Ahlefeldt (* 1646 on Gut Buckhagen ; † September 9, 1717 ibid) was a Holstein-Gottorfischer and Danish statesman and provost of the Preetz monastery .

Life

He was the son of Gerd Philipp von Ahlefeldt (1611–1666) and his wife Anna Rumohr († 1696), née. from Rumohr . From 1671 he was chamberlain to the Danish Queen Charlotte Amalie . In 1674 he quit the Danish service and was provost of the Preetz monastery from 1677 to 1682. At the same time he was from 1679 district administrator and secretary and chamber councilor and was in the holstein-gottorfish service. He was significantly involved in the government business of Duke Christian Albrecht . Joachim von Ahlefeldt was president of the exiled Gottorf government from 1686. In 1698 he was instrumental in the settlement of the Altona settlement , which returned his land and rights to Duke Christian Albrecht. He later returned to the Danish service after the pro-Sweden King Frederick IV had taken over the Holstein-Gottorf government. In 1711 he signed the Hamburg settlement between the Danish and the ducal governments for a joint government. Joachim von Ahlefeldt was one of the most politically active members of the Holstein nobility at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries . He spent the last year of his life on his Buckhagen estate and died 13 days after an accident in which horses ran away in his carriage.
