Joachim of Brandenburg
Joachim von Brandenburg (born April 13 . Jul / 23. April 1583 greg. In Halle , † June 10 jul. / 20th June 1600 greg. In Dresden ) was Margrave of Brandenburg . He was the son of Elector Joachim Friedrich and Electress Katharina von Brandenburg-Küstrin and twin brother Ernsts von Brandenburg .
He died at the age of 17 in Dresden when he paid a visit to the court there. On June 22nd, Jul. / July 2, 1600 greg. began the solemn transfer from Dresden to Berlin, where he was on July 1st . / July 11th 1600 greg. was buried in the Hohenzollern crypt in the old Berlin Cathedral . In the course of the construction of the Frederician Cathedral , the sarcophagus was moved there with 50 others in 1749.
