Joan Segarra Iracheta (born November 15, 1927 in Barcelona , † September 3, 2008 in Taradell ) was a Spanish football player .

He was the captain of the legendary five-cup Barças, one of the best teams in the history of Barcelona. The great captain , as he is called by the Barcelona fans, won four championships with FC Barcelona between 1950 and 1964, five times the Spanish Cup and twice the Exhibition Cities Cup . The culmination of his career was denied to him: in the final of the European Cup in 1961 Segarra had to pass due to an eye injury; Barcelona eventually lost 3-2 to Benfica Lisbon . He played a total of 402 competitive games for Barcelona, ​​making him the seventh most in the history of the club.

For Spain , he played 25 international matches from 1951 to 1962 and took part with the team at the 1962 World Cup, where disappointingly they were eliminated in the preliminary round as the bottom of the group.
