Joanna Schulte

Joanna Schulte (* 1969 in Osnabrück ) is a German artist .

Life

Schulte first studied art and history at the University of Osnabrück 1992–1995, then free art at the University of Design in Hanover and in 2001 became a master student of Ulrich Eller . In 2011 she received the annual grant from the State of Lower Saxony , in 2012 the residence grant from the State of Brandenburg, Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf and 2013 KWW grant from the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation . She lives in Hanover.

Works

Until 2002 Schulte was a member of the Wlodek band, the first production of which was released by Trikont in 1999, From Happy Days . Kapelle Wlodek performed mostly in the context of cultural events, for example in 1998 in the Kulturbrauerei Berlin, 1999 in the Herzog August Library Wolfenbüttel and in 2002 in the Sprengel Museum Hannover .

Pieces with the musician Leif Sommerwild have been created as Quadrapong 2.0 since 2014, Goodbye to Romance made it into the last 8 potions of the remix contest ROMANTIC REVOLUTION - bruckner unlimited, DSO remix contests 2015/2016.

In her objects , photographs and installations she dramatizes aspects of everyday phenomena as well as apparently silent catastrophes and leaves behind a persistently ambivalent mood. It focuses on the themes of love and death, legacy and tradition, in particular on different cultures of remembrance.
