João Ferraz

João Ferraz (born January 8, 1990 in Funchal ) is a Portuguese handball player , who is mostly used on the right back space position.

Career

The 1.98 m tall and 94 kg heavy left-hander began his professional career in 2006 at Madeira Andebol SAD. After stints in Marítimo and Desportivo Francisco de Holanda, he went to Xico Andebol and returned to Madeira for two years after winning the 2010 Cup. In 2012 Ferraz moved to the record champions FC Porto , with whom he won the title in 2013, 2014 and 2015 . In the 2013/14 season he qualified with Porto for the EHF Champions League , but was eliminated in the group stage.

Ferraz was elected to the All-Star team at the U-20 European Championship in 2010 . He is part of the Portuguese national team . So far, he has played 69 international matches, scoring 131 goals.

From July 2015 he was under contract with the Bundesliga club HSG Wetzlar . On November 1, 2019, he was loaned to the Swiss club HSC Suhr Aarau until the end of the 2019/20 season. He then moved permanently to HSC Suhr Aarau.
