Jocelyne Gout (born March 10, 1968 in Alès ) is a former French football player .

Club career

The midfielder began club football as a youth with the Cheminots Nîmes . At the age of 16 she moved to the Racing Club Paillade in nearby Montpellier . It was from there that FC Lyon brought her in 1987 , which in the following years developed into one of the two dominant clubs in French women's football and with Jocelyne Gout in 1991 alongside mostly somewhat older teammates such as Marie-Christine Umdenstock , Véronique Nowak and Marie-Angèle Blin won her first national title under Lyon's long-time coach Jean-François Vuillemin . At the time, these championships were played in a mixture of league and knockout mode ; The highest league in France only existed from 1992, and in the very first season of this league called Championnat National 1 A , FC Lyon ended up at the top of the table. Two months earlier, Gout had also made his debut for the French national team (see the section below).

In 1995 and 1998 her championship titles number three and four with the FCL followed. After eleven years in Lyon , the now 30-year-old ended her career at this high level in 1998. Successes in the French national or in the European Cup are missing in their Palmarès , because both competitions were only introduced in 2001.

Jocelyne Gout was appointed to the French national women 's team relatively late by coach Aimé Mignot - one day before her 25th birthday. After this debut, a 1: 3 in Sweden , she quickly developed into a regular at the Bleues and played a total of 30 games within four and a quarter years. In it she also scored four hits. Gout only played one match against a team from German-speaking countries, namely the 3-0 win against Germany three days after their debut. Her last international match was in Sweden in June 1997; this was the 1-1 draw against Spain at the European Championship finals . Mignot's successor Élisabeth Loisel then no longer considered the midfielder.
