The player career

societies

From an early age, Élisabeth Loisel played in two clubs near her home town (from 1970 to 1976 with US Étrépilly, then until 1979 with CS Meaux) - at a time when the French football association FFF also legalized women's football (first official international match: 1971) . In Meaux, at the age of 15, she was already used in the club's first women's team. In 1979 she moved to the highest league in France to Stade de Reims , which had previously won the French women's championship three times, and quickly became part of the regular formation here. In 1980 and 1982 she won her first personal national title with Reims. In 1982 she joined the VGA Saint-Maur and added five more to her two championship titles by 1989. That makes her the most successful player across the Rhine to this day.

National team

Between November 1980 and March 1989, Loisel was appointed to the French women's national team a total of 41 times , scored three goals and was their captain from 1982. At the (still semi-official) European Championship 1987-1989, she reached the quarter-finals with les Bleues .

The trainer

As early as 1987 she was responsible for the training of her teammates at VGA Saint-Maur, before two years later - immediately after the end of her active career - she became assistant coach and from July 1997 head coach of the French women's senior national team . She was the first woman in this role and brought the team to the finals in two European ( 2001 and 2005 ) and one world championships (2003) and helped the French kickers to rank fifth in the world in 2005 . In February 2007 she was replaced by Bruno Bini after 110 international matches .

Since 1999, Élisabeth Loisel has also dedicated herself to the training of young female coaches on behalf of FIFA and has had a seat and vote on the women's football committee of the world association since 2002. In 2015 she was part of the World Federation's Technical Study Group that prepared the official final report on the Women's World Cup in Canada .

On October 28, 2007, she took on the role of head coach of the Chinese national soccer team . The activity ended after the disappointing performance at the Algarve Cup 2008, in which China only finished ninth; Loisel looked after the Chinese during 13 games.

Since May 2015 she has been training the French national military team for women, which she also looked after at the World Military Championships from September of that year in South Korea . A year later she brought this world title to France for the first time.
