The Jochgrimm ( Italian Passo Oclini ) is a 1989 m slm high pass in the Italian province of South Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
The top of the pass is located in the area of the municipality of Aldein in South Tyrol. To the north is the Weißhorn ( 2317 m slm ), to the south the Schwarzhorn ( 2439 m slm ).
Jochgrimm can only be reached by public car traffic from the neighboring province of Trentino . From the Passo di Lavazè ( 1808 m slm ) to the east, the paved, almost two-lane pass road leads to the Jochgrimm / Oclini ski area at the top of the pass.
The European long-distance hiking trail E5 crosses the Jochgrimm.
history
The saddle is mentioned in a document as early as 1234 as " Joacrem ". The name also plays an important role in the corner song , a Middle High German heroic epic presumably composed in the Bolzano area . The giant corner mentioned there could have been nicknamed Grimme .
